Weather

From The Home County Wiki

Weather changes life around the Isle: wild plants, planting choices, beekeeping and the birds you encounter all respond to the current conditions.

Weathers

Weather What to look for Activities and planting
Sunny weather Sunny Ripe Sloes and wild Oyster Mushrooms. The normal weather between events. Outdoor cooking is available in sunny weather.
Rain Rain Ripe Blackberries and wild Fly Agaric. A rainy event can turn into a thunderstorm. Use indoor cooking equipment when it is not sunny outside.
Thunderstorm Thunderstorm Ripe Blackberries. Thunder and lightning accompany the rain. Rain and thunderstorms can change into one another during the event.
Snow Snow (Cold Front) Ripe Cranberries, wild Button Mushrooms and robins. Plant Lettuce and Bluebells while the cold front is active, once their worker-level requirements are met.
Heatwave Heatwave Ripe Strawberries and wild Inkcap Mushrooms. Plant Carrots and Sunflowers, and start Sunny Honey at a beehive once its beekeeper-level requirement is met.

The scheduled rain, cold-front and heatwave events each last three days. Normal sunny weather returns when an event ends.

Growing and gathering

  • Planting: Crops and Flowers list the weather required to start each plant. Most can be planted in any weather.
  • Growth: a plant already in the ground continues to grow when the weather changes. A broken plot pauses its progress.
  • Berries: wild berries ripen in their own weather. The bush also needs to have regrown before ordinary picking is available.
  • Fungi: each wild fungus has its own spawn weather. Fungi disappear when conditions no longer match, so gather them while the appropriate weather is active.
  • Beekeeping: Sunny Honey can be started only during a heatwave. Other current beehive products have no weather restriction.
